“Philanthropy” isn’t just the title of a recruitment round for us; it’s part of who we are. The philanthropic mission of Gamma Phi Beta, building strong girls, is exhibited through various annual service efforts as well as each of our daily lives.
Fall Philanthropy | Crescent Classic: G Phi Joe
GPhi Joe is a Crossfit-inspired event featuring tasks like obstacle courses and relay races. All sisters participate in roles such as registration, station managers, water station, scorers, and coaches for IFC, NPC, NPHC, and club sports teams alike. In addition to the event itself, sisters helped bake challah for Challah for Hunger. Alpha Chapter raised over $3,000 for Girls on the Run from GPhi Joe 2015!
NEW! Spring Philanthropy | G Phi Bagels
The unveiling of our new philanthropy, G Phi Bagels, was a hit success as we raised over $1,700 for Girls on the Run. A local vendor, Bagelicious, graciously hooked us up with homemade bagels and cream cheese, some of which sold out in minutes! We’re excited to continue this new tradition that allows all of campus to directly contribute to our philanthropy.
The TCS New York City Marathon 2015
Two of our sisters, Amanda Kwong (MC ’13) and Olivia Liskowitz (MC ’15), trained tirelessly to run the TCS New York City Marathon last November. They both contributed all their donations to Girls on the Run, collectively raising a whopping $6,000. We are so proud of them and their personal successes. As a bonus, Liv was the 2016 Panhellenic Athlete of the Year recipient!
