BEING ALPHA
Since Gamma Phi Beta was founded at Syracuse University, we are the Alpha Chapter of our sorority. We are the first, and while many special gifts accompany being the Alpha Chapter, we hold ourselves to the highest ideals of our order. In everything we do, we try to uphold the values set by our four founders over 135 years ago. We are honored by this and welcome it.
We see the result of our chapter’s involvement and presence at Syracuse all over campus. Whether it’s the Haven Residence Hall directly behind our chapter house, built to honor former Chancellor Haven, father of Frances E. Haven, one of our founders; or whether it’s the Women’s Building, dedicated to our founding members, we are proud to call our campus not only our home, but the home to our order.
Our chapter house is always welcome to all Gamma Phi Betas who would like to see what being Alpha is all about!
